Brandon Bolin

Brandon Bolin is an Austin, Texas based artist who was born in Waxahachie, Texas and raised in Amarillo, Texas.  As a child Bolin developed a deep interest in the songwriting legends of the 20th century.  Growing up, the family had a fully restored jukebox in the house that was constantly playing classic country music, gospel, and oldies. Singing alongside the family jukebox as well as singing hymns from the Methodist hymnal by his grandmother’s piano is where Brandon first learned to sing.

Bolin’s high school music teacher recognized his vocal talent, and at age 14 Bolin began training his voice by studying classical music. During his senior year at Amarillo High School, he was awarded a music scholarship to Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee. Bolin left Belmont after a semester and took some time off from school. On September 12, 2001, Bolin joined the Air Force ROTC program at Manhattan College, and finished up his degree in Political Science in 2004 at City College of New York.

After college, Bolin commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant in the Air Force in 2004 and moved back to Texas, where he attended law school at Southern Methodist University. Soon after graduation, Brandon was honorably discharged from the military. Bolin went on to briefly practice at a Texas based law firm before leaving the practice of law to start a real estate development company.

In 2010, after a decade away from singing, Bolin began several months of intense training with Texas based singing legend Betty Lynn Buckley.  Soon thereafter, Bolin re-united with Jon Nite, his best friend from high school and and a successful songwriter with EMI in Nashville.  After hearing one of Bolin’s recordings, Nite asked Brandon to come up to Nashville for the summer and record his debut album, which Nite produced.

Bolin and his wife and two children recently moved to Austin, where they currently reside. Brandon formed a band in Austin, with whom he has since begun to promote his first single “Don’t Lie” from his debut album, “Shiver.”
